Common Tick-Borne Illnesses:

  • Describe the clinical features, causative agents, and geographic distribution of key tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease, Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS), Babesiosis, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF).


Proper Tick Removal Techniques:

  • Explain and apply evidence-based methods for safe and effective tick removal and subsequent wound care.


Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols:

  • Outline appropriate diagnostic tools (e.g., Lyme antibody tests, blood smears) and treatment strategies for both adults and children, including the use of doxycycline and alternative therapies.


Prophylactic and Preventive Measures:

  • Describe recommended prophylaxis protocols post-tick bite and list preventive strategies such as insect repellents, protective clothing, and environmental precautions.


Early and Disseminated Signs of Infection:

  • Differentiate between early localized and disseminated stages of Lyme disease, and recognize serious complications such as carditis, meningitis, and cranial nerve palsy.
