This course covers a myriad of cases to give you strategies to manage and differentiate common from life-threatening conditions, and expand your differential diagnosis based on history, examination, and diagnostic testing results.

Differentiate between common and emergent causes of abdominal pain across pediatric age groups.
Understand age-specific presentations and identify red flags indicative of surgical emergencies such as intussusception, volvulus, and appendicitis.
Conduct a systematic pediatric abdominal examination:
Learn effective techniques for assessing abdominal pain in children, including observation, distraction methods, and appropriate physical examination maneuvers.Identify signs and symptoms of conditions like appendicitis, mesenteric lymphadenitis, testicular torsion, and ovarian torsion, and understand the role of imaging and laboratory tests in diagnosis.
Apply tools such as the Pediatric Appendicitis Score (PAS) to stratify risk and guide management decisions.
Develop treatment plans based on the severity and etiology of the condition, including indications for surgical intervention and supportive care measures.
