This on-demand course is a live recording of the Urgent Care Women’s Health conference. Hear from GYN, Family Practice, and Urgent Care physicians who will teach you strategies to manage common outpatient issues and important medical presentations, such as diagnosing and/or managing female-related complaints in the urgent care, the emergency department, and other outpatient settings.

Objectives:

• Differentiate between primary headache types in women, including migraines, tension headaches, and cluster headaches, based on symptom patterns and clinical features.

• Recognize the influence of hormonal changes—such as menstruation, contraceptive use, and menopause—on headache presentation and risk factors, including contraindications for certain medications.

• Identify red flag symptoms in headache presentations that warrant further diagnostic workup, such as papilledema, neurological deficits, or signs of systemic illness.

• Apply a patient-centered approach to adolescent and adult female patients presenting with headaches, taking into account psychosocial stressors, mental health, and lifestyle contributors.

• Understand and evaluate less common but serious conditions affecting women with headache and neurological symptoms, including lupus, multiple sclerosis, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
