A CME course created for the new Urgent Care Physician, PA and NP that is just starting out, or for those clinicians who need a refresher to lower medical error and risk.

This on-demand course is a live recording of our Can’t Miss Urgent Diagnosis conference. Learn strategies to manage common outpatient issues and important medical presentations and how to catch the clinical time bombs and subtle deadly findings for patients that walk into your primary care, urgent care or emergency department.

Topics Covered in the

Conference

  • Identify common injury patterns and red flags that suggest non-accidental trauma (NAT), including suspicious bruising, fractures, burns, and retinal hemorrhages.

  • Differentiate between accidental and inflicted injuries by assessing the consistency of the history, mechanism of injury, developmental stage, and physical findings.

  • Recognize high-risk populations and social factors that increase the likelihood of child abuse, including caregiver risk factors and concerning behavioral signs.

  • Conduct a thorough evaluation and documentation of suspected abuse cases, using appropriate language, detailed history, and physical examination technique.

  • Understand the legal and clinical responsibilities of healthcare providers in reporting suspected abuse, and know how to communicate with caregivers and Child Protective Services appropriately.
