Welcome to A Frank Discussion

Join Dr. Frank Illuzzi (CityMD) and Dr. Hong Choi (Director of Physician Academy at CityMD Urgent Care) as they review standard practices and evaluate common outpatient complaints to avoid high risk associated pitfalls!

Topics Covered in the

Podcast

  • Recognizing and implementing improved practice patterns to deliver quality care and avoid errors in common urgent care scenarios.

  • Develop an approach to recognition and assessment of the “lurking acuity” diagnoses of concern which may present similarly to benign illnesses, and the appropriate management and disposition of these patients, including transfer to a higher level of care.

  • Review and incorporate focused physical exams that are essential in appropriately examining a patient with these lurking acuity diagnoses in mind.

  • Review the standard practices and learn pearls when evaluating common outpatient complaints to avoid high risk associated pitfalls.

  • Differentiate epiglottitis from other lower acuity causes of pharyngitis.

  • Identify and manage wounds that require further investigation to evaluate for foreign body inclusions.
