Dr. David Shih is the Chief Medical Officer of CareAbout. Prior to joining CareAbout, he served as the CMO and co-founding team member of Rendr, a value-based primary care practice in NYC with over 200 physicians dedicated to serving an underserved Medicaid and Medicare immigrant population. Under his leadership, Rendr achieved 4-star quality ratings while significantly improving care management and coding accuracy.

From 2010 to 2018, Dr. Shih was the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of CityMD, where he also held the role of Executive Vice President of Strategy Health & Innovation. At CityMD, he was instrumental in hiring the first 100 physicians, establishing CityMD’s Academy training services, and developing their Aftercare Services.

Before 2010, Dr. Shih worked as an attending physician in the emergency room at Northwell Health’s Huntington Hospital. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Shih earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from Binghamton University and his M.D. from the New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine.
