Antibiotics Resistance is Growing!


The majority of the causes for URI, bronchitis and pharyngitis are viral. Recent studies shows that Urgent Care Clinicians overprescribed antibiotics for a majority of these cases. Furthermore, the wrong antibiotics are often prescribed for the wrong diagnosis. When we try to push back against patients demand for inappropriate use of antibiotic, our patient experience scores drop. 



So what do we do? 


Dr. Frank Illuzzi is part of the CDC Action Committee on Antibiotic Stewardship and shares his insight on what to do in these various case scenarios how some clinicians who can achieve high patient experience score and still prescribe appropriately.
